An Afternoon At A House?!?

Once again we were blessed by some fantastic German hospitality including the best steaks ever and a relaxing swim in an outdoor pool (plus really good company). Our friends the Kohlers invited us over for a lovely Saturday afternoon at their place - and again I was surprised at the novelty of hanging out in a house here in Taipei since most of us live in apartments. There's just something so nice about stepping out your own back door into your own back yard to enjoy your own company and not that of the other 100's of residents in your complex. (Though I am really thankful for our complex and the residents that we know there)

The kids loved splashing around in the pool and even seemed to have regained the confidence they'd built up at Matt & Tori's pool... maybe it's something to do with being outside?!?

Hunter & Luca were playing 'fill the tub' until Luca turned the hose on his mom... that ended that! But it was pretty funny to see her run!!!!

Of course all that splashing makes one ready for afternoon tea on the lawn... and again, Mareike impressed us with some lovely dessert...

so lovely that Helena didn't want to miss out either - so she stuck her hand in a bowl of it and got it all over herself... what a turkey!!!

While we were there it sprinkled just enough to cause a rainbow overhead... what a lovely afternoon! Thanks, Kohlers!!! We really enjoy spending time with your family.
